Pomegranate pitter

Description

A pomegranate pitter is a kitchen tool designed to facilitate the process of removing the seeds (arils) from a pomegranate. It usually consists of a handle and a conical or spherical head with slits or teeth.

Here’s a general description of how a pomegranate pitter works:

1. Cut the pomegranate: First, cut off the top of the pomegranate, where the crown is. Then, carefully slice along the ridges of the pomegranate to split it in half.
2. Use the pitter: Place one half of the pomegranate cut side down on top of the pitter. Press down firmly and rotate back and forth a little at the same time. The pitter’s teeth or slits will push the seeds out of the fruit as you twist and press.
3. Remove the seeds: As you twist and press the pomegranate, the seeds will come loose and fall out through the pitter’s openings. Repeat this step until all the seeds have been removed from the fruit.
4. Repeat for the other half: Twist and press in the same way with the other half of the pomegranate to remove all of the seeds.
5. Proofreading: Check that there are no seeds left in the fruit and remove any residue.
